Would you believe me if I told you that this couple meant through walmart? How about if I told you they both have the same last names (before even getting married.. and no they wasn’t related.. lol) Well its true! Now Dan & Patty choose to have their wedding way before ever having reception. In fact they held off on ever having a reception until October. This is when Dan & Patty contacted me saying they were already married but wanted to have a reception celebration. A small reception none the less but with a big boom.
When I say small reception, I mean it was a group of close friends and family, not your typical 120+ guests count… and while there also was not a lot of dancing, the reception still had a big effect a big boom if you’d like to say. Dan & Patty still wanted to have that special reception so they hired us to provide a few more things than just “music” we came out with dancing on the clouds, uplighting, and the photobooth!
The photobooth was a big success. We had guests using it all throughout the afternoon. (Yes afternoon as this reception was not your typical evening affair) Actually if you want to be quite honest everything was different about this reception. The theme was heavily put together to represent a “beach theme” from the colors to the decor. We brought out the blue uplights, had a beach themed background for the photobooth prints, and Dan even wore shorts with a nice beachy themed shirt. Did i mention this reception took place in October? forget about all the fall colors we want summer to never go away.
Dan & Patty didn’t have a traditional wedding party, instead I just introduced them as a couple. They still had a first dance which took place “on the clouds” They also did parent dances, cutting of the cake, and a bouquet and garter ceremony. (The reason I call it ceremony is because they didn’t do a toss) instead they did an anniversary dance and the couple who were together the longest got to keep the bouquet and garter as a gift.
